North Dakota State University (NDSU), an R1 institution, ranks in the top 100 public universities
nationwide in research expenditures. It is one of the eleven institutions in the North Dakota
University System (NDUS). NDSU has experienced a drastic growth in computational and data-
driven research in recent years, with high-performance computing integrated in most fields.
The Center for Computationally Assisted Science and Technology (CCAST) provides advanced
cyberinfrastructure for research and education at NDSU and beyond. CCAST develops,
manages, brokers, and operates high-performance, cloud, and interactive computing resources,
and educates researchers on proper and efficient use of the resources and on other topics of
interest.
